Meet The Staff
Michael Oliver
Attorney At Law
Michael is a Des Moines native who grew up locally and attended DMACC, the University of Iowa, and Drake University while obtaining a degree in Finance and his Juris Doctorate from the Drake University Law School. Michael is a resident of West Des Moines and has strong connections to the community through his friends, family, and professional relationships.
Michael graduated from the Drake Law School in December 1995 and subsequently began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Polk County Attorney’s office. Michael opened Oliver Law Firm PC in 1997 and has successfully represented clients throughout the state of Iowa for over 22 years. Michael has always sought to bring the highest quality services to his clients and has mentored and practiced with a core group of attorneys, many of whom have been appointed as judges due to their outstanding legal skills and understanding. Michael is proud to be associated with these colleagues and recognized as their peer.
Michael’s practice is focused on family law and high-asset divorces; real estate; business law; estate administration / probate matters; collection law, and trial litigation. Michael’s legal achievements include the following:
- Successful representation and establishment of the current framework of the Iowa law concerning spousal support through his successful client representation at the District Court trial and through its challenge to the Iowa Supreme Court;
- Successful representation of numerous civil cases through both Bench and Jury Trials
- A jury verdict acquittal and successful defense of State "A" Felony Homicide criminal charges

Michael is also a Certified Family Law Mediator who is often called upon to assist other attorneys in the resolution of their cases prior to trial. Michael is proud of his high success rate as a mediator and always strives to resolve client matters prior to trial.

Hannah Clark
General Law Paralegal
Hannah is a general law paralegal who assists in cases of all areas from inception through trial. She assists with document examination, drafting of pleadings, deposition and trial preparation, scheduling, and client preparation. Her main focus at the firm is serving as a liaison for clients, attorneys, and the court.
Hannah received her Associates of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from Kaplan University (now Purdue Global). Prior to joining Oliver Law Firm in 2014, Hannah worked in the legal and customer relations fields.
In her spare time, Hannah enjoys photography, writing novels, and spending time with her daughter and their assortment of pets.
